“Anusara - is flowing with Grace by saying yes to the whole magical spectrum of life. It is a willingness to be aware of tall parts of ourselves - the light and the dark, the full rainbow of sensation, perception, emotion and thought.”

RHYS’ YOGA PATH

Rhys is registered as an Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga and an Experienced Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Rhys's journey to becoming a yoga teacher began over a decade ago when searching for a way to keep fit. Initially trying swimming and running he then ventured into mat Pilates as a way to compliment these two disciplines as by now he was running 5km, 10km, half marathons and marathons.

Rhys started taking yoga classes in 2013 and immediately made a connection enjoying the more spiritual aspects of the practice that Pilates did not provide. As he progressed with Yoga, he was encouraged to consider becoming a teacher himself, subsequently embarking on a 200 hour course run by Bridget Woods Kramer. Bridget is a highly respected certified teacher in the Anusara Community and the general yoga Community, with over 30 years of teaching knowledge and experience. He completed the program in 2016 and has assisted Bridget on delivering the training a number of times since.

Rhys has always been fascinated by Buddhist and meditation practices and has read widely on this topic over the years. One of the books that he particularly engaged with was "Yoga Body, Buddha Mind" written by Cyndi Lee. Cyndi was the first yoga teacher to bring together yoga practice with a Buddhist philosophy.
In 2020 with mindfulness becoming part of the mental health conversation Rhys started to study with Cyndi completing a 300 hour course with her in the summer of that year.
